FAQ

Have Questions?

Here are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.

How do I know if I need a new roof?

Throughout the hot and cold seasons, composite shingles have a tendency to expand and contract. This process can cause small gaps to form and the adhesive of the silicon to deteriorate. These symptoms are basic wear and tear issues that develop gradually over a long period of time. It's never a bad idea to get your roof inspected for the possible damages before it's too late!

When should I file a claim?

Under obvious extreme conditions, you should definitely contact your insurance company to report a claim. However, for minor leaks or damages that can cost less than your deductible, we urge you to consider using your insurance company to assist you for larger repair issues such as a roof replacement. Someone from our team can conduct a free inspection at your convenience to provide you with the best course of action as well as provide you with insurance assistance.

Does a claim raise my premium and can my insurance company drop me?

For wind and hail claims, your insurance company can not drop you or raise your premium due to you placing a new claim. In cases of massive catastrophe, the cost of an insurance company’s national average may raise a small amount in order to make up for the loss to stay in business.

How long does it take to process a claim?

Depending on your insurance adjusters’ work load, weather conditions, and other factors, it can take approximately 5 to 10 business days for your insurance company to process the claim for you.

What is the length of time for a full roof replacement?

Under city ordinance, we can begin the tear off process no earlier than 7am and begin heavy machinery no earlier than 8am. Typically, a re-roof of just one layer of shingles on a one story house will only take just one day! Facing unexpected additional construction, large roof replacement projects, or a number of other scenarios, will take no more than just two full days for a full roof replacement including a thorough clean up. All work is dependant upon weather conditions.

Do I need to be present for the free inspection?

In order for a member of our team to provide you with the most accurate assessment, it may be in your best interest to be present during our inspection. There may be vital questions that can be of concern to you regarding your roof and/or your property that we might need to explain and demonstrate situations to you in person. We are committed to providing convenience to our customers, and we are excellent in working with your schedule.

Is it safe to place a second or third layer of shingles on top of each other?

Under any circumstances, it is absolutely not a wise decision to “over lay” or install multiple layers. Installing two or three layers can put up to 720lbs per 100sq ft of additional weight on your roof! This can cause a tremendous amount of permanent cosmetic damages such as bowing effects in your decking sheets. Multiple layers can also put excessive weight on your rafters that can cause them to split and even possibly crack or even break.

What are the benefits of proper ventilation?

Increasing the amount of proper ventilation in your attic can significantly reduce your utility bill, and prolong the life span of your shingles.
